MS 2

Ausflug Salzburg

In the upcoming school year, a student from England, Alistair M., will be joining Mr. Aniser’s class in Wörgl. The children have already met Alistair in a video conference, and over the summer holidays, Mr. Aniser and Gabrielle Amestoy took Alistair on a trip to Salzburg so that he could get to know his new classmates before the school year began. The children welcomed him into their group, and they are all excited to have him join their class in the new school year. During their trip to Salzburg the class visited the “Haus der Natur” museum.

The class enjoys speaking English, and with Alistair joining them, the transition will be very easy for him. Additionally, there is a native English speaker who teaches in the class, and every child attends an additional English lesson with Ms. Amestoy once a week.

Biology has been taught bilingually since the first grade, and physics was added to the curriculum in the second grade. This offering will continue next school year, allowing Alistair to continue using his native language. All the children benefit from this bilingual education, and it is an excellent way to expose them to different cultures and languages.

The integration of Alistair into the class demonstrates the welcoming and inclusive culture at the school in Wörgl. It is essential to foster a sense of community and acceptance, especially when welcoming new students from different countries and cultures. The school’s efforts to make Alistair feel at home before the school year starts will undoubtedly help him adjust to the new environment quickly.

Moreover, the bilingual education program at the school is a significant advantage for all students, as it offers them an opportunity to learn and use multiple languages. Research has shown that bilingual education can improve cognitive skills and lead to better academic performance. By offering bilingual education, the school is helping to prepare its students for a globalized world, where communication and language skills are becoming increasingly important.

In conclusion, the arrival of Alistair Mimm to Wörgl and his integration into Mr. Aniser’s class is an exciting and positive development. The school’s commitment to bilingual education and inclusive culture sets an excellent example for other schools. It is essential to recognize the benefits of a diverse and inclusive school community and to provide opportunities for students to learn and use multiple languages.
